International networking on in vitro colon models simulating gut microbiota mediated interactions

Description

The action brings together researchers from gastroenterology, microbiology, nutrition and related fields to develop consensus protocols and reliable reference datasets for in vitro colon models. Standardised models allow gut microbiota and their interactions with the host to be studied in a comparable way across laboratories, and support their use in research and regulatory settings. The network also develops educational material for young researchers and the public.
